Yes, this is my sixth post about The Joy Formidable...What can I say? Their debut, "The Big Roar, was one of the best albums of 2011 and they are a live band that must be experienced. If my word isn't good enough for you, and really why should it, just ask Muse and the Foo Fighters why they asked Ritzy, Rhydian and Matt to join them on tour.

Their follow up, 'Wolf's Law', released today in North America, is a massive album and there is no debating that. This album explodes open with the first track, and single, 'This Ladder Is Ours.' However, catching a breath is not an option as Rhydian and Matt rip through the second track, 'Cholla.' As the album seamlessly rocks its way along, the heavy and layered tracks 'Little Blimp,' 'Maw Maw Song,' and 'Bats' remind you why you love the artistry of music. The stunningly simple track "Silent Treatment", with Ritzy's beautiful vocals on display, delivers your only chance to catch a breath. But when the silence does arrive after the epic closer 'The Turnaround', make sure you wait around. The subtle piano of the hidden track "Wolf's Law" will give you chills and remind you of the song "October" that U2 gave us over thirty years ago. But this track doesn't stay quiet for long, and really, I didn't want it to.
