The "Wednesday Phew"

"Wednesday Phew" [wenz-dey-fyoo]
definition:   A moment that brought a sigh of relief, sarcastic or not.

"Damon Albarn told the world that 'Blur and Gorillaz aren't finished.'  This despite earlier in the month telling us that they were finished."

Now to be fair, a little background on Blur and Gorillaz may be needed before you feel this worthy of a phew moment, sarcastic or not.

I would guess that most you have heard at least one Blur song, Damon's first band. However if you are stubborn enough not to believe me and you have young kids, this video will probably refresh your memory.

As for his second band, 'Gorillaz' , it formed out of the on and off relationship that Damon has with the members of Blur. Now granted they were not as big as Blur, so for your listening pleasure I have linked a great teaser mix of Gorillaz 2010 album "Plastic Beach".

Now if you still can not make a judgement if this is worthy of a Phew moment, sarcastic or not, then checkout this video.  It is a short interview plus acoustic performance of the standout track "On Melancholy Hill" from their visit to Triple J studios in Australia.

So thanks to Damon Albarn for my first 'Wednesday Phew', sarcastic or not.
