A huge musical range of genres and decades help feed my writing and this new UK band, The Smokin' Barrels, are now included. First hearing about them through the positive support thrown their way by musical legend Noel Gallagher and perennial festival headliners Kasabian, they instantly made it into my playlist. Add to that the Banksy influenced cover on their second EP "Mindless Self Indulgence" and The Smokin' Barrels had a permanent spot.As you listen to this three-piece they will bring up anthem memories of Oasis and Stereophonics mixed with the modern UK sound of Arctic Monkeys. Have a listen to "I'm Coming Down", an anthem track that is full of pacing bass and ripping guitar.
