Music Monday - Everest

Like most of you I am sure, it is daunting to find new music in this age of streaming radio and endless selection. Having access to stations from New York to London, it is just easier sometimes to listen to my classics.  I can only imagine what a new band faces as they try to get their music to the right ears. For me, except for a few friends and a handful of on-line blogs, it comes down to seeing them live. It was in 2008, opening for Neil Young, that Los Angeles based rock and soul band Everest had their opportunity with me. Seeing them twice on that tour and again in 2010, Everest easily cemented themselves into my rotation, especially when writing. Their new album "Ownerless" is set for release June 26, their follow up to the successful 2010 album "On Approach". Give them a listen.

"Let Go" Acoustic for WNRN Radio

"I've Had This Feeling Before" Live for KCRW

"Fallen Feather" Live in Boston.(Don't miss the drums in the last 2 minutes)

If you like what you heard, head on over to Everest Live where you can download a ton of live shows from their 2010 tour for free. Or better yet, check them out on tour this summer with Alberta Cross:
