Music Monday - Adam Yauch

"You inspire what I do."
Five simple words that are said too little and often too late. This was evident once again this weekend with the outpouring of admiration for Adam "MCA" Yauch. Adam, a co-founder of the ground breaking hip-hop band the Beastie Boys, passed away on Friday after battling cancer since being diagnosed in 2009. Artists from Sonic Youth, Jay-Z, Eminem and Red Hot Chili Peppers made sure to tell the world the impact that Adam made on their music and lives.

For me, the song that will always be in my head by the Beastie Boys is "Sabotage". Released in 1994, "Sabotage" is a rapid mix of hip-hop and hard rock and can be found on their studio album Ill Communication.
Now as the news spread on Friday of Adam's passing, tweets and interviews were not enough for some and impromptu performances to honour him began to surface. One that stood out to many was this heartfelt cover by Coldplay of the Beastie Boys classic "(You've Got to) Fight For Your Right (To Party)."

"Who inspires you?"
