This week's "Music Monday" blog is about Ryan, not Bryan, Adams. Though the confusion caused by the one letter is understandable, their music could not be further apart. Just think of the "B" standing for adult contemporary and the "R" representing everything else.
With that annoying confusion now dealt with, I want to give a big thank you to Ryan Adams for being an inspirational part of my daily writing routine.
With such an extensive catalogue, I have to admit it has been very easy to find something for any scene when choosing Ryan for my early morning writing sessions. His style ranges from alternative country, like those tracks done while with Whiskeytown, all the way to his rock-out tracks like "This is It," found on his 2003 release "Rock & Roll". Now more recently with his 2011 singer-songwriter release "Ashes & Fire", Ryan has given listeners yet another genre to choose from and furthered his artistry as a musician and lyricist.
Now take a minute out of your busy Monday and watch or listen to a few tracks off of his 2011 release "Ashes & Fire". Both tracks below were performed solo this past December for KCRW, a leading supporter of new music from around the world.
If you like what you here, you can purchase some of his catalogue over at the PaxAm Records Store, they have vinyl, or to connect with him check him out on Twitter or Facebook. I would really suggest following him, especially if you are a big cat lover or remember the band RATT...you will see. Finally, if you are in a giving mood, why not stop by and support the non-profit radio station KCRW and all of the musicians that they promote.
Have a great Monday writing and make sure to find a little time for some music.
